HELLO, I'M MARIA. IT'S NICE TO MEET YOU!

If you're checking my site for the first time, you're probably just as curious about me as I am about you. Are we a great fit? Can we relate? I’m glad you asked. Here’s a little bit about me.

My Personal Mission.

I have discovered my highest purpose in life is to passionately learn, serve and make a difference.

I Live by My Core Values.

Whether it’s a routine choice or a high-stakes decision, my core values determine my course of action; it makes decision-making easier.

Faith – I firmly believe something above me, beyond me, beside me, through me and within me created all of creation.

Family and Friends - I spend time cultivating the relationships that matter to me.

Freedom - I believe everyone should live as they choose - free from oppression.

Gratitude - I have a sincere appreciation for all of life's blessings and struggles.

Making a Difference - I’m committed to making our world a better place - one person and organization at a time. A 3% donation of every coaching service will support charity.

Minimalism - My focus is on conservation, not consumerism. I live simply, with meaning and purpose - with less stuff and waste.

Passionate Service - I do what I love, and I love what I do. I do the best that I can and I want to help others do the same.

Personal Growth - I believe if I'm not learning, then I'm not growing. My commitment to life-long learning ensures that I am continually evolving.

Personal Responsibility - I take responsibility for my actions and for the circumstances I create.

Solitude - I show up best for others and myself when I can spend solo time to reflect, rest and reconnect.

Win-Wins-Wins - I believe in creating and maintaining beneficial arrangements with myself, the people I serve and the people they serve.

Meet Maria: About Me

MY STRUGGLES AND SUCCESSES

I’ve Cheated Death.
When I was 19 years old, I  was t-boned by a drunk driver. He ran a red light going 73 mph. The impact of the collision was so powerful that the driver’s heart came out of his chest cavity; he died instantly.  The last thing I remember was seeing the other car going in slow motion and was about to hit me on the passenger side door. I woke up in the trauma unit with a major concussion, a broken cheekbone and missing teeth. I have nerve damage in my face, neck, and arms. Not to mention short-term memory loss, concentration and balance issues as well as sciatica, neck, back and shoulder pain.  I spent several years recovering. It was this single event that made me realize I want to live my life to its fullest.  Tomorrow is not guaranteed. I believe every minute of every hour of every day is a new beginning, because YOLO!

I Create Personal Opportunities, Pursue My Passions and Explore My Curiosities.
At 22, I moved halfway across the country to live in my favorite city, San Diego. I knew since I was a little girl that I was going to move there (OB for life!) Since then, I’ve lived in six states and Italy. I’ve earned my Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees. I’m an activist in children, disability, human, LGBTQ+ and women rights. Last year, I bought a one-way ticket to Paris and lived out of a backpack for nearly eight months as I traveled to Europe, Africa, Asia and Australia on a budget of $41 a day.

I’ve Overcome Insurmountable Odds.
I went from a depressed, suicidal high school dropout to graduating as a fifth-year senior earning the President's Outstanding Educational Improvement Award from President Clinton. It is from this pain, suffering and despair that I can motivate and inspire others. Above all, I've learned to believe in my strength, that I'm never alone and that life has meaning.
